Hedge

Daily calibrated trivia: bet how sure you are.

Free on iPhone, iPad, Mac (Apple silicon), Apple TV, and Vision Pro.

Five questions a day, about 90 seconds. This is calibrated trivia: the scoring rewards being right about how much you actually know, not just being right.

New: Hedge Party

Bring Hedge to game night. One screen is the stage, on an Apple TV, a Mac, or an iPad, and everyone plays from their own phone. Each player bets how sure they are on the same question. Bets stay secret until the whole room locks in, then the stage reveals the truth and every bet at once.

Nine free party packs, from the Sixties through the Nineties to wizards and starships. Three rounds of ten questions, standings between rounds, and a finale that hands out the night's awards. A sure call pays, a confident miss stings, and an honest hedge keeps you in it. Party games never touch your daily streak or your calibration, so play as many as you like.

How to host a Hedge Party: the setup that makes game night easy.

What you actually do

You see a true/false statement. Before you answer, you set your confidence: 50% (no clue), 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, or 99% (bet the house). Then you swipe TRUE or FALSE.

The math (Brier scoring) pays you for confidence you can back up and punishes confidence you can't. Hedging at 50% earns a flat 15 of 20 points either way, what pure guessing is worth. You only climb above 15 by knowing more, and only fall below it by betting confidence you didn't have. Confidently wrong hurts way more than "eh, maybe."

Go deeper with Gut Check

The daily round keeps you honest five questions at a time. Gut Check is the focused version: pick a topic pack, spend Chips to open it, and answer 40 or more questions in one sitting.

At the end you get two reads. Your calibration: was your confidence honest, with your 80% bets landing around 80% of the time? Your conviction: did your gut commit, betting hard on what you knew and hedging what you didn't? Replay a pack to watch your accuracy climb toward mastery. Chips are earned by playing, so the more you show up, the more you get to dig in.

Why it's different

Most trivia rewards luck and elimination. Calibrated trivia rewards self-knowledge. Over time the Pulse calibration chart shows whether your 90%s are actually 90%, which categories you're sharp in, and where confident-and-wrong burns you. Like a weatherman or a bookie, you learn how much you actually know.

Questions made for Hedge

Other trivia apps draw from the same shared question banks, the free and paid sets dozens of them license, so the same questions turn up everywhere. Hedge writes and fact-checks its own. Every question is original to the app and built for the confidence bet, so you're not answering the recycled trivia you've already seen somewhere else.

Built honest

No accounts. No ads. No analytics, no tracking, no servers. Everything stays on your devices and in your own private iCloud, and parties run over your own Wi-Fi. New questions arrive over the air.
